Nurse Services & Health Promotion
These services are offered by the practice and are accessed by making an appointment with the practice nurses.
Holiday vaccinations, travel advice, Yellow Fever vaccinations, childhood immunisation, cervical smears, Family Planning, Well Woman and Well Man checks, smoking cessation advice and Flu/Pneumococcal vaccination. New patient health checks, lifestyle advice, hypertension monitoring, diabetic checks and Spirometry.
Nurse Led Clinics
Practice nurses will also see patients who suffer with Asthma/COPD, Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease, Hypertension and Depression and will manage the care of these patients. The nurses will refer patients back to a doctor if necessary. The practice expects to see patients suffering from these diseases at least once a year if the disease is well controlled, more frequently if not.
Minor surgery is available by appointment with Dr Hampson, CP Peter Smith or Dr Moghal for initial assessment. Minor surgery clinics are held at the surgery on Fridays and you will be contacted and given an appointment date and time.
Child Health Surveillance
Clinics are held every Thursday afternoon. The first appointment for your baby will be with a doctor for an 8-week assessment and then immunisations will be given by a Practice Nurse. A trained member of staff will also be present to weigh and measure your baby.
Please note - There is no longer a health visitor present at the clinic.
You will be sent an appointment by the Child Health Department to attend between 13:00 - 14:30. Please try to keep to your appointment time to avoid delays.
Antenatal clinics are held every Thursday afternoon and are run by the community midwives. There is a doctor available if necessary. The midwives are also here to answer any questions you might have regarding your pregnancy/health.
Appointments are between 13:00 - 15:00 and can be booked at reception.
